Ghost Box IV
EDITED BY PATTON OSWALT
“The classiest literary gift you can give a special ghoul on Halloween.”
—Ron Charles, Washington Post
You didn’t really think it was dead, did you? After years of demand, Patton Oswalt’s horror anthology returns with a jump scare—turn around, you fool, there’s a new Ghost Box hiding behind that door!
Ghost Box IV includes:
Bob Leman, “Window”
Mathilda Zeller, “Kushtuka”
Ruby Cowling, “Eliminate Toxins and Increase Blood Flow”
L.D. Lewis, “Flicker”
Lord Dunsany, “The Three Infernal Jokes”
Michael Shea, “Brief Scenes of a Noxious Nativity”
Gabino Iglesias, “Don’t Go Into the Woods Alone”
Edith Wharton, “The Lady’s Maid’s Bell”
Gahan Wilson, “The Sea Was Wet As Wet Could Be”
Francis Stevens, “Unseen—Unfeared”
Christian Bök, “The Extremophile”
The fourth Ghost Box is available in a one-time print run (and we should point out that volumes I, II, and III sold out rather quickly…). Carrying on the classic design and construction of the first three sets, the custom clamshell box features silver ink, a holographic foil stamp, and our signature magnetized lid that clicks shut with coffin-like precision. The eleven books have debossed cover illustrations and were printed with the blackest-black ink our printer could mix up.
Special editions? So glad you asked. We made exactly 100 sets of Ghost Box IV for collectors; these sets are signed and hand-numbered by Oswalt and sealed with an iridescent varnish.
And for the real heads, there are just twelve copies—an evil dozen, if you will—of an ultra limited edition that includes a blue ribbon bookmark and hidden bonus content. (Oswalt signed these for us as well.)
Find all three versions in the H&O store, while they last.
“Maybe this collection is a way to contain and categorize, to imagine a phantasmagoric level of ‘bad’ so that the real version can be managed. Mostly.”
